Marina Strawberry Tree

Arbutus ‘Marina’

Description

This evergreen tree has pale pink flowers in fall and winter followed by showy, round yellow and red fruit that may remind you of strawberries. The fruit is edible but pretty seedy. Trunk and branches are covered with silky-smooth, mahogany-red bark.

Hummingbirds love the flowers. The fruit is attractive but messy when it falls, so it may be best sited over ground cover. It keeps its leaves on year round, and is useful for privacy and shade.
