Hedge Maple

Acer campestre

Hedge Maple

This beautiful maple has a dense canopy and is easy to grow. Unlike many maples, it is a tolerant of less than perfect growing conditions, air pollution, pests and diseases. The dense canopy gives it a rather neat look and the round-lobed leaves are set close to each other on the branches.

Given good drainage and medium water the Hedge Maple will be a beautiful green presence in the garden from spring to fall. It turns a soft golden-yellow in the late fall.
